Tribute to Ang Lee (SOLD OUT) September 30, 2007 Following a screening of Lust,Caution, Ang Lee’s award-winning new movie at SIFF Cinema, a tribute dinner commences at the new Volterra Drawing Room in Ballard. The event kicks off with a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the grand opening of this intimate, new private event space. Dale Chihuly will cut the ribbon to lend celebrate two of his favorite things; film and fine Italian food. The Volterra Drawing Room was named in honor of the 14 Chihuly drawings that grace the walls. This sold out event raised $10,000 to benefit SIFF and was the premiere event to kick off the Dinner and a Movie series. Winemaker Dinners: Guado del Re Marchesi de Barolo Bertani Amarone Dinner and a Movie Series: Date night just got a whole lot more appetizing with the formation of a partnership between Volterra Restaurant and the Seattle International Film Festival. “Dinner and a Movie,” a year-long quarterly program that officially starts in January 2008, will feature Volterra’s award-winning Italian cuisine coupled with films exclusively picked by Carl Spence, Artistic Director of SIFF. Dinner and a Movie —presented by Volterra and SIFF—Italian genre, Italian directed, Italian movies will be the theme of this series and each film will be complimented by a specially-prepared meal in the intimate private dining room.
